MIcroEconomics ( 3 TC3 Credits)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
- This course is an alternative for the state required economics course.
- Designed to accommodate the college bound student.
- This is a semester long course that rewards the successful student with three college credits from Tompkins Cortland Community College.
- Students may take both Micro and Macro and earn 6 college credits from TC3.
Principles of Microeconomics (ECON 120)
An analytical introduction to the processes whereby economic resources are allocated and income is distributed. Concepts addressed include: scarcity and opportunity cost, utility, supply and demand, elasticity, production costs, pricing under perfect and imperfect competition, the role of government, and the theory of international trade and finance. This course is intended to be part of a two course sequence in micro- and macroeconomics specifically designed to meet the needs of students transferring to a four-year college majoring in business and related subjects and the social sciences.
