What is Mastery Day?
Mastery Day is a bi-quarterly day where students have the opportunity to improve upon their skills. Previously, students would receive a grade for a test or assignment that remained in the grade book for the rest of the school year. This practice worked well for students who understood the material, but left others struggling as our course moved forward building off of previous content. Mastery Day gives our students the chance to improve upon an area of our courses they previously struggled with. This means that our grade books not only record assessments, but also record the progress of our students in our courses.
