Enriched Global I (CHS Credits ONLY)
This course will follow the guidelines for New York State Standards and Curriculum for Global History and Geography I. The course covers the span of world history from Ancient World Civilizations and Religions (4000 BCE - 500 CE), Expanding Zones of Exchange and Encounter (500 CE - 1200 CE), Global Interactions (1200 CE - 1650 CE), and the First Global Age (1450 CE - 1750 CE).
Additional emphasis will be placed on reading historical documents (primary and secondary sources), note taking, performing research, formal essay writing, in class discussion, and hands on learning experiences.
Enriched Global is designed for a student who is willing to accept an academic challenge, is able to openly participate in a positive manner, and has the academic maturity to be a great listener while classmates or the teacher offer ideas.
